Who we are
eCommons is a cooperative initiative by and for communities. We help co-ops, community projects, and local initiatives access open-source software and shared digital infrastructure. Our goal is to keep technology affordable, reliable, and fully under community control — breaking dependence on big tech and strengthening the commons.

Our mission
We provide tools that make it easier for communities to manage documents, bookkeeping, communication, and organization — while ensuring that ownership and control remain with the communities themselves.
Our vision
We imagine a future where communities operate independently, own their data, and can use interoperable tools without being locked into any platform. By building and sharing digital commons, we empower communities to co-create their own infrastructure.
Our tools
We are working on tools for document management and collaboration, bookkeeping and administration, e-mail and communication platforms and a living lab for developing prototypes and new solutions for community-owned data.
Get involved
Everyone engaged in the commons is welcome to participate: join discussions, contribute to testing, help develop tools, or partner with us on national and European projects. Together, we build a fair, open-source, community-owned digital infrastructure.
